grandcanyon-meHi…I’m Lisa Cadigan. I am a wife, mother of two, and the sole proprietor of Cadigan Creative.  I also love to sing, write, run, and hike.  I spend a great deal of my time trying to master the balance between all of these things and call it a life.  Although I have graduated from college and have a master’s degree, I will always be a student of motherhood, wife-hood, friendship and person-hood.  All of my experiences repeatedly culminate into one great lesson, which is to live in each present moment with kindness, compassion and gratitude.

I established Cadigan Creative in 2001 as a graphic designer/future-mom laying a foundation for the elusive balance between career and family.  In 2002, my husband and I welcomed our first child.  In early 2003, I quit my full-time job despite an irrational fear to purchase a fax machine – I was afraid I may not earn enough on my own to recover the $110. But I took a leap – and the decision has proven to be one of the better ones I have made.

I have continued to work as a contracted graphic designer for my former employer and many other clients over the years, the list consisting largely of non-profit organizations.  The common thread all of my clients share, however, is my belief in the messages and ideas I help them to communicate.  Each client, each person, each company I have served is working to make the world a better place in a way I find meaningful and important.

Cadigan Creative evolved further in March of 2013 with the website and blogging platform you are visiting now.  My goal: to broaden the horizon of the company and foster a virtual community, where creative people who care about making a difference can share ideas, feature their work in a variety of media, and form partnerships to work on projects that will have a direct impact on their respective communities.  It is another leap, and it’s not only fostering wonderful connections, it’s also providing me with many fun opportunities to express myself creatively (including a second blog of essays, called Daily Presents and an appearance in the 2014 production of Listen To Your Mother – DC).

If you want to learn more about me professionally, you can  find my resumé on Linked in. For more information about graphic design services, any of my photography or about how you can contribute your story and/or art to this community, please fill out the form on the contact page.
